Sailing Virgin Voyages from Barcelona
Barcelona is Virgin's main Mediterranean homeport. I sailed from there with a 40-person birthday group in June 2026. Here is how I plan the city, the terminal, and two port days I have done myself: Cinque Terre and Corfu.
The short answer
- Virgin uses Moll Adossat Terminal A or B, or sometimes the World Trade Centre South Terminal. The app confirms yours 2 to 3 days before sailing.
- A taxi from the airport is about €40 to €50 and takes 20 to 30 minutes.
- Arrive a day or two early. Barcelona deserves it.
- Many Barcelona sailings visit La Spezia for Cinque Terre. Corfu is on some Barcelona to Athens and Greek Isles itineraries.
Which terminal
Virgin sails from the Moll Adossat cruise terminals A and B (Moll Adossat 1, 08039 Barcelona) or the World Trade Centre South Terminal (Virgin port information). The exact terminal is confirmed in the app 2 to 3 days before sailing. Moll Adossat is at the end of a long breakwater, so take a taxi with luggage rather than trying to walk.
Getting there
From Barcelona–El Prat airport, a taxi to the port is about €40 to €50 and takes 20 to 30 minutes. Virgin also sells airport transfers as Shore Things. Embarkation works like any Virgin homeport: pick your arrival time in the app and stick to it.
Before you sail

Port day: Cinque Terre from La Spezia
Ships dock in La Spezia, with a free shuttle to the terminal. From there, La Spezia Centrale station is about a 15 to 25 minute walk, or a short taxi ride. The Cinque Terre Express runs to all five villages, and Riomaggiore is about 8 minutes away (Cinque Terre Card rates). A one-day Cinque Terre Treno Card covers the trains and trails, and runs about €22 to €35 per adult depending on the season.
For our group, I arranged a private boat charter in Cinque Terre. For a group, I think it is worth considering, because you see the villages from the water and skip the crowded trains.

Port day: Corfu
Ships dock at Corfu’s New Port, about 1.5 to 2 km from the Old Town. It is a flat 20 to 30 minute walk along the water, or a short taxi ride.
On Resilient Lady, my Corfu day was Paleokastritsa, the hill village of Lakones, an olive oil tasting and then Corfu Town. A private boat is a good option here too.
