Virgin Voyages restaurants, explained

Virgin has no main dining room. Instead there are six signature restaurants and more than 20 places to eat, and nearly all of it is included. The trick is booking at the right moment, so here is how it works.

The short answer

  • Food at Virgin’s 20+ eateries is included. Treat Yourself items and dinner shows like Another Rose are extra.
  • Your reservation window depends on your fare: 15 days out on Base and Lock It In, 45 on Essential, 60 on Premium and 120 in RockStar suites (bookings made on or after October 7, 2025).
  • The Razzle Dazzle space serves a different dinner on each ship.
  • Full? Join the waitlist on board, and check the app often for cancellations.

When reservations open

You can book a limited number of tables before you sail, in the app, in My Account or through me (Virgin dining FAQ).

Fare (booked on or after Oct 7, 2025)Window opens
Base and Lock It In15 days before sailing
Essential45 days before sailing
Premium60 days before sailing
RockStar and Mega RockStar suites120 days before sailing
Heads up: Booked before October 7, 2025? Virgin’s own pages disagree. The dining FAQ says 45 days for standard cabins and 60 for RockStars, while the My Account FAQ says 60 and 120. Check the app for your booking, or ask me and I will watch it.
My tip: On Base and Lock It In, the best times are often gone by day 15. That is one of the hidden trade-offs of the entry-level fare, and I cover it in my budget planner.

New: Shared Tables. Virgin is testing an opt-in option to share a dining table with other sailors, with the same menu and service. It is piloting on Resilient Lady on three voyages in October and November 2026, and a fleet rollout depends on how it goes. It is a nice fit for solo and social sailors, and for anyone who couldn’t get the reservation time they wanted.

These are always available without booking: The Galley food hall, The Dock and Dock House, Sun Club Café, The Pizza Place, The Social Club, Quickeze, and ShipEats in-cabin delivery. ShipEats runs 24/7 except on disembarkation day. There is a $10 delivery fee, waived on orders of $10 or more and for RockStar suites.

Every eatery has at least one vegetarian option. Virgin does not offer certified kosher or halal meals.

How I plan a week of dinners

First Mate playbook

What I do for my clients

  • I go after the hardest tables first, the day your window opens.
  • I save one night with no reservation. The Galley and The Dock are some of the best food on board.
  • For groups, everyone has to be connected as friends in the app before one person can book a big table. I set that up early.
  • I keep checking for cancellations right up to sailing, and I tell clients about the onboard waitlist.

Dixie the Diva from the Happenings Cast joined an LGBTQ+ meetup I hosted, and later came to dinner with us at Extra Virgin. A big table with the right people is one of my favorite ways to spend a night on board.

How I keep this guide accurate. I check every policy, fare and date against Virgin Voyages’ own FAQs and contract first, and only use cruise forums and other advisors for things Virgin does not publish, which I label as reported by sailors. I re-check each guide at least every 90 days and the same week Virgin announces a change. Last fully checked October 20, 2026. Spot something out of date? Tell me and I will fix it.

Want me to plan this one with you?

I'm a Top 100 Virgin Voyages First Mate (2024 and 2025). Virgin sets the fare, so the same cabin, fare type and promotion is the same fare with me as on virginvoyages.com, and I charge no planning fee. What you get is a person: I hand-pick your cabin where your fare allows, book dining and Shore Things the day your windows open, watch for upgrades and fare changes, and answer your texts before and during the trip. I also arrange hotels before and after the cruise, private excursions and group plans, and I deal with Virgin for you when a booking or benefit needs sorting out. I take the stress. You take the photos.
