I’m Derek, founder of At Ease Travel Co.

I built At Ease for people who want to see more of the world and feel genuinely comfortable doing it. I especially strive to serve fellow veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and travelers who value experiences that feel personal, welcoming, and thoughtfully planned.

Travel has shaped much of my life. My years in military service gave me opportunities to experience places, cultures, and perspectives I may never have encountered otherwise. That chapter helped develop my love for travel and still influences how I see the world today.

At Ease is a quiet nod to that part of my life, but it also describes exactly how I want you to feel when you travel.

My journey as a travel advisor began as The Bespoke Travel Dude, built around the belief that travel should feel personal rather than packaged. At Ease Travel Co. is the evolution of that idea.

I also believe that seeing the world comes with a responsibility to take care of it. Travel has real impacts on communities, cultures, wildlife, and the environment. Sustainable and responsible tourism increasingly shapes the partners I choose, the experiences I recommend, and the conversations I have with my clients.

I spend time in the destinations I recommend, experience hotels and travel products firsthand, ask questions, and build relationships with people who know their destinations best. When I have not experienced something personally, I rely on trusted partners whose expertise I respect.

My job is to make the complicated parts feel simple, help you make informed choices, and create a trip that feels like yours.

I take your travel seriously.
