Which voyage is your voyage?
Eight quick questions. I'll match your answers against every Virgin Voyages sailing open for booking right now and show you the itineraries, real Shore Things, hand-picked tours from trusted partners, a what-to-expect guide for every port, and how each port handles crowds.
Voyages picked for you
Ranked by how well each voyage fits your answers. Tap any voyage for the day-by-day plan, Shore Things, and port details.
Heads up: your quiz answers and the voyages you view are shared with Derek (no name or email unless you send them) so he can help you plan.
Read up on every port before you pick
Still undecided? Tap any port to open its full guide: getting around, the top five sights and why they matter, half-day and full-day plans, what to eat and drink, shopping, tipping and etiquette, safety, what to pack, and hand-picked tours.
Email me my matches
You'll get your matches with cabin fares, the day-by-day plan, a port guide for every stop, hand-picked tours, and a "Let's go, book it" link for each sailing. I get a copy too, so I can check live fares, promos, and perks (Bar Tab, Sailor Loot, and more). There's no fee to work with me, and you'll pay the same fare as booking direct.

The fine print, made friendly
Where the voyages come from
Every itinerary, date, ship, and starting fare comes from Virgin Voyages' public voyage planner, last checked . Cabin fares are Virgin's entry-level listed fare for each cabin type (Insider, Sea View, Sea Terrace, RockStar Suite, and MegaRockStar), for both solo sailors and two sailors in one cabin, plus taxes and fees. They change daily, so I'll confirm live fares before you book.
Shore Things vs. partner tours
Shore Things are Virgin's own excursions, with names, lengths, and starting prices from each Virgin port guide. They open for booking in the app 120 days before you sail (135 for RockStars), and the ship waits for them. Partner tours are hand-picked from Viator, GetYourGuide, Shore Excursions Group, and Tours by Locals, based on ratings, reviews, and fit. Ratings and prices were last checked and can change. Shore Excursions Group guarantees you'll make it back to the ship. With the others, check the tour's return-to-ship policy and leave a buffer before all-aboard. Partner links are affiliate links, so I may earn a commission at no extra charge to you. Port overviews are my own summaries, so double-check opening hours and local rules before you go.
What gets shared
When you finish the quiz, Derek gets your answers, your top matches, and which voyages and booking buttons you tapped. Your name and email are included only if you send your matches by email. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone else.
Planet score (an estimate)
This is a simple, transparent 1–5 rating based on published facts, not an official certification.
- Every port starts at 3.5.
- −1.5 if it's a documented overtourism hotspot
- +0.5 if caps or fees are actively managing the crowds
- +1 if it has shore power now, +0.5 if funded, +0.25 if planned (CLIA)
- The voyage score averages all of its port days.
VAT on drinks
If every stop is in the EU (Barcelona round trips, for example), plan on about 10% VAT on drinks for the whole voyage. With a non-EU stop, VAT applies only on EU port days. The Canary Islands and Martinique are outside the EU VAT area. The Bar Tab calculator sets this for you when you pick a voyage.
Sail lighter, sail better
- Choose shoulder-season dates when you can.
- Walk, bike, or kayak instead of taking a bus tour. Look for the green "Planet-friendly" tag.
- Eat and shop with local, family-run businesses.
- Use reef-safe sunscreen and refillable bottles.
Sustainability sources include Greece's cruise passenger fee schedule, Santorini's daily cap, Dubrovnik's limits, Barcelona City Council, Palma's cruise agreement, Amsterdam's cruise limits, Juneau's passenger caps, and the CLIA shore power map. At Ease Travel Co. isn't affiliated with Virgin Voyages. Itineraries can change, and ports can be skipped for weather.
