On board

Why LGBTQ+ sailors love Virgin.

01

Drag, every sailing

Drag shows, Drag Bingo and drag brunch are part of the regular entertainment, not a special event.

02

Pride, fleetwide

Every June, Virgin runs Pride activations across the fleet, including themed cocktails and parties.

03

Meetups

Official LGBTQ+ meetups now appear on many sailings, plus sailor-run meetups organized through Facebook groups.

04

Gender-neutral restrooms

Every ship has them, and sailors can select the gender they identify with.

05

Adults only

No kids anywhere on board, which keeps parties like Scarlet Night and the PJ Party fun.

06

Charters

Full-ship LGBTQ+ charters from companies like Atlantis sail on Virgin ships and sell out fast.

Choosing a sailing

Regular sailing or charter?

A regular sailing gives you Virgin's full program, flexible dates and my Sailor Loot on eligible bookings, with plenty of community on board. A full-ship charter is a nonstop party with its own hosts and programming, but higher fares and fewer dates.

Hosted group sailings are a middle ground: a group of LGBTQ+ travelers on a regular voyage, with private events. I'll tell you what's coming up for your dates.

Ports

The honest part

Not every port is equally welcoming. I flag local laws and anything worth knowing for your itinerary before you book, so there are no surprises on shore.

He offered the best incentives (better than any offers made through cruisecompete). Didn’t think we needed priority check-in but when we got there and saw the line for regular check-in my partner and I knew we were working with a pro.
David C. · Virgin Voyages cruise · June 2024
He is extremely patient with questions and very responsive. I would always hear from Derek within 24 hours but usually, within 1-2 hours. … Working with Derek is like having a friend at Virgin.
Leigh P. · Repeat Virgin Voyages Sailor · August 2024
He made our cruise the best girls trip we've ever had. He was extremely helpful and thoughtful from booking to our return. Booking with him was such a breeze.

Questions

LGBTQ+ Virgin Voyages FAQ

Is Virgin Voyages LGBTQ+ friendly?

Yes. Virgin is one of the most LGBTQ+ welcoming cruise lines: drag shows and Drag Bingo run on regular sailings, every ship has gender-neutral restrooms, and Virgin celebrates Pride Month fleetwide every June. It's also adults only, so the vibe is social and grown-up.

Is Virgin Voyages a gay cruise?

Regular sailings are mainstream, adults-only cruises with a big LGBTQ+ crowd. Full-ship LGBTQ+ charters, run by companies like Atlantis Events, are also held on Virgin ships. Those sell out early and have their own fares and rules.

Does Virgin Voyages have LGBTQ+ meetups?

Virgin has added LGBTQ+ meetups to the onboard schedule on many sailings, often around day two at The Dock. They may not run on every voyage, so check the Sailor App once you're on board. Many sailings also have sailor-organized meetups through Facebook groups.

Are there LGBTQ+ concerns with certain ports?

Most Virgin ports are welcoming, but laws and attitudes vary by country. I flag anything worth knowing for your itinerary before you book, especially on Eastern Mediterranean and some Caribbean stops.

Why book with an LGBTQ+ travel advisor?

I'm an LGBTQ+, IGLTA-member, veteran-owned advisor and a Top 100 Virgin Voyages First Mate. You get the same fare as booking direct with $0 planning fees, Sailor Loot on eligible bookings, and honest advice on sailings, ports and charters.

Sail with pride.

Text me your dates and I'll suggest the sailings, cabins and Pride-season voyages that fit, plus the current offers.
